HAFWAY is a youth project that has grown out of the vision of a few local people who saw a gap in their community. In 1998 HAFWAY was born and since then has been providing opportunities for young people to engage in and make a difference in, and in turn make a difference in them. The importance of being known and recognised and valued, being at the centre of what we aim to do and say.
Through working with our young people a wide and varied programme of activities is planned and delivered over may sessions (check out our website for fuller details of times and places). Activities include:
Sports – Football, badminton, table tennis, basketball, archery, skateboarding.
Life Skills – Cooking/baking, crafting, debating/discussions;
General – Xbox, quiz nights, themed nights, camping trips and other day trips.
We also run the Duke of Edinburgh Award for all those over 14 years old and undertake mentoring in either individual or group sessions.
We are always looking for willing volunteers who have a heart for young people; from those that want to make toast and service our tuck shop, or join our Trustees in overseeing the running of the project, to those that want to work more directly with our young people.
